Easy Drink in Germany?

Question by GavinLovesMusicFriends: Easy Drink in Germany?
Hi everyone!
Im just wondering is it easy to buy alcohol in Germany when your underage.I understand that the age to drink is 16 and to buy is 18 but do you know if they are really strict on these type of things.Im 15 and im going over to germany soon for 3 months. Also are the lenient on letting you into bars and clubs over in Berlin.
If you answer thank you but please dont give me the lecture on underage drinking.I know its illegal and dangerous but m Irish and everyone does it over here. Its my own personal choice.Im sure you were all teenagers once and please answer my question without the lectures.
Thank you

When Germans have a rule, they pretty much stick to it. No, you won’t be allowed to drink in a bar until you’re 16. No, you won’t be able to buy alcohol until you’re 18. At home, though, or at parties, you can drink what you’d like. I’m not sure why you want to drink if you’re 15 (most 15 year old I know hate the taste of alcohol).
I’d stick to drinking with friends, at parties, or at home. Otherwise, you’ll get carded and in trouble. Not a lot of trouble, they’ll just kick you out.

Still feel obliged to mention that you should be careful with alcohol. Yes, I’d tell a 35 year old the same thing. Don’t abuse it. Don’t drink yourself silly, and don’t drink just to drink. Those are pretty much the basic guidelines to drinking… that, and don’t drink and drive, but I can’t imagine you’re allowed to drive.

:-) Enjoy your time in Germany!!!!

You should have no problem, especially at fests. They don’t ID in any bars I was ever in, except for places military folks hung out. I’ve spent 14 years over there in three trips, so I’ve seen quite a bit of the bar/party scene.
