i ended the movie so confused! i mean, what actually happened there at the end? what was the movie about in general? even though i saw it, i have no idea. what was the deal with Keanu Reeve’s girlfriend, Donna? i need this seriously explained. thanks!

I think it was this: His girlfriend was actually his boss and she basically conned him into getting addicted and brain damaged so he could go to the rehab place with the sole purpose of being put to work in the fields so he would maybe give her one of the flowers and that would be their proof that the corporations were manufacturing substance D.
she felt guilty because she knew ahead of time that he would get addicted and brain damaged from the drug but did it to him anyway.

The movie was about corporations profiting from drug abuse. The same guys who controlled the rehab clinic were the guys who owned that farm where the blue flowers (used to made substance D) were farmed.
Keanu Reaves job and his relationship with his boss was just about people manipulating each other and abusing or misusing their power.
