Is the Term “depression” Over Used?

Question by Jackie Brown: Is the term “depression” over used?
Do you think some people are diagnosed with depression when they are not? That is what I am being treated for. I do not think it’s the case but I am tired of arguing with my doctor so I will go with it. How do you know someone is really depressed after only 10 mins of speaking to them?

hmm i think you have a point but trust you don’t here these words (depression, ADD,) being overused more than I do
my mother is a shrink
and if I’m sad for more than a day I’m suddenly depressed
if i get bad grades or she finds me not doing my work I have ADD
