I Was 12 Weeks When I Miscarried My Baby, but How Long Do I Need to Wait for My Thinking to Clear?

Question by Britt: I was 12 weeks when I miscarried my baby, but how long do I need to wait for my thinking to clear?
I recently had a miscarriage and I saw an episode of LA Ink that a girl got a tattoo for her baby that she miscarried. So it only has been like a week and I initially said that I wanted to wait 6 months, but then I realized that it was going to be right around when I was due. So if this happened to you how long would you wait?

see a counselor -a 12 week old fetus is not the same as a baby. perhaps a better way to heal would be to reach out to other women & children via grief counseling. ask your OB about agencies where you can make a positive difference based on your experience & pain.

Forget about the tattoo while you are still trying to conceive. There is a real chance you could get an infection and this would compromise your having a baby in the near future.

If you miscarry again at around 12 weeks, investigate whether your progesterone levels need addressing to maintain a successful pregnancy.
