Yes. I have. It works, if you stick with it. I got mine from one of my old psych’s. But, I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of it. It was from a very old author is all I remember.

Don’t take Shirley’s “doctor” advice. That’s just stupid. No real doctor in their right mind would prescribe that for someone with depression alone. That’s the same as xanax, which is for anxiety.

The “doctor” who recommended alprazolam (xanax) is pushing a benzodiazepine, pill, which is designed for anxiety and panic attacks and is addictive, for the treatment of depression. See, www.psychconflicts.org for information on psychiatry’s dependence on “Big Pharm”.

Depression is caused by negativity; it is not due to a chemical imbalance. See source. It is a normal “emotion”, one of 6-8 basic ones you are born with and you need it in order to live as it is a natural signal to change course in your thinking, behavior and/or environment which are not the best for you. If depression, rarely, becomes extreme and/or prolonged it is called “clinical depression” and may require psychotherapy. This treatment, which includes “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy”, CBT, mostly teaches you to think and act positively.

I can not recommend a CBT book but since you plan to read about the treatment I recommend trying, “Learning to think positively” in a Yahoo! web search for many links on how to do this. This is also a source for books on psychotherapy.

Look up the words in quotes in a web search. Good luck!
