An Open Question to Chiropractors on This Board?

Question by DrDan: An open question to chiropractors on this board?
How many of you use rehab or refer for proper physical therapy? How many of you(in practice) are “HIO” chiropractors? How many of you wish that “MrE” would stop telling everyone on every board that every problem stems from nerve interference? Any other skeptics are more than welcome to weigh in(you know who you are) MrE, if you decide to respond, please list research articles. I would love to read what you can find.
Edit: Mystify, you are right. I have seen offices in the US that actually use real physical therapy, and I have seen offices that use it to increase collections. I have a PT that works with me. It is a great arrangement. To the noseknows, in the US, physiotherapy and physical therapy are two very different things, just like chiro in the US vs. chiro elswhere. We are under far greater scrutiny here than in other parts of the world.
Hey, “thenoseknows”, I am a Chiro in the US and I DEMAND such standards of myself. I can’t control all the other freaks out there, but I can control me.
Edit: Mr.E, can you tell me the nerve that directly controls the thyroid gland? I’ll wait…..

I’m a chiropractor. If I find that a patient needs physical therapy I’ll refer them for physical therapy- rehab is not my specialty.

I’m not a hole-in-one chiropractor, I practice full spine Activator care. My patients generally respond very quickly to adjustments, and have very few side effects. The most common side effect of my adjustments is mild muscular soreness.

I don’t believe that all health problems stem from nerve interference, but many do. In my career, first as a chiropractic assistance and now as a chiropractor, I’ve seen a lot of amazing things. My father (the first chiropractor in our family) has assisted several women who were having fertility issues. After a series of adjustments each of these women was able to conceive after years of trying medical fertility solutions.

Believe or not, skeptic or not, chiropractic works for many people.

Why in the world would a Chiropractor refer patients to a physiotherapist who has far less educational qualifications than they do? This would be like a neurosurgeon referring a case to a GP!
By “proper physical therapy” I assume you mean physiotherapy. This is begging the question by inferring that physio is “proper” and anything else isn’t… Chiropractic IS a form of rehab. and physiotherapy and many patients who have visited a Chiropractor who specializes in sports medicine can achieve much faster positive results than with physiotherapy, and I’m familiar with too many cases to mention. I know Registered Massage Therapists who get better results than physiotherapists.
I’m assuming that you also think that your brand of wishing is “scientific” wishing?
Now I suppose you can present random controlled trials that show people who went for physio. had better results than people who did nothing… Conventional physio. is just another modality that offers a “wait and see” approach. The patient pays anyway, regardless of success or failure. And you want to criticize Chiropractic?
Why is is that some conventional medical people always want to hold alternatives to a higher standard than their own brand of medicine. 80% of conventional medical treatment has no scientific evidence to back it up.
