Do You Support Marijuana Legalization?

Question by Ryan Sullivan: Do you support Marijuana legalization?
I personally do, and I have good Arguement’s. I feel if you do not then you clearly have no understanding of Marijuana which is why I am posting this to help you understand more about it.

Reason’s why it’s illegal and my arguement’s.

Reason:It’s percieved as addictive
Arguement: It’s been proven to not be addictive in studies and in reality you can quit Marijuana and have no withdrawal’s.

Reason: It’s a “Gate-way drug”
Arguement: No, it is only a gate-way drug because it is ILLEGAL. If it were not illegal you wouldn’t have to go to the gang’s who offer , Heroin, Meth, and all the addictive things in the narcotic category, meaning when you go to them to buy your pot, they go “Hey, bro want something with more of a kick?” and you say “Sure what kinda bud is it this time?” they will offer you crack and say they’ve taken all the addictive chemical’s in it out, so it’s no longer addictive which is of course a lie to get you to buy it. If it were legal you wouldn’t have to go to the crook’s to buy it therefore it would no longer be a gate-way drug.

Reason: Some people claim it causes cancer
Arguement No, Marijuana does not cause cancer, it’s been proven in a Harvard study to slow the growth of cancer and is actually used in cancer patient’s to help them eat and stop some of the pain during Chemo. Point proven.

Reason: User’s are often looked at with as having an uncleanly lifestyle.
Arguement: The reasoning behind this is because it’s illegal…… Look at anything else that’s illegal and what people say about it, even things that are legal like Tabacco are looked down upon. Even if a firework is illegal people look down upon the user of that firework it’s just plain out common sense.

Reason: It has been associated with cases of murder and rape.
Arguement: Who commited these murders? I have never seen one published article about somebody under the influence of Marijuana solely that commited a murder because of the Psychological effect, the only real effect Marijuana has on it’s user is relaxing them.

Reason: It has association with gang activity.
Arguement: No it doesn’t the only reason that is, is because it’s the gang members selling it, if it were legal (like in California) there would be shops distributing it legally.

Reason: Would you want everyone walking around high all the time?
Arguement: I wouldn’t mind it actually, If everyone was under the influence of Marijuana (Which not everyone would be) the world would be a lot less hateful

Reason: It causes Hallucination’s
Arguement: To stop the damage this can do, we would just have to like a driving test, for people under the influence of Marijuana to make sure this isn’t happening, and come up with some kind of Marijuana ID card, like a FOID Card (Firearm Owner Idenfication card).

Not even really a reason just a recent arguement I had with some dumbass teacher at my school:It would still be illegal to anyone under 18
Arguement: Obviously, but the benefit would be that it could help people who smoke stop’s by stopping the craving of Nicotine, and Alchohol should be illegal anyways.
There you go those were my arguement’s I feel those are very valid if you disagree let me know. Thank you. Also if you disagree, post a valid point proving almost all of those wrong instead of proving one wrong that another point proves invalid. I presented educated point’s I would respect if you did to.

One: please learn proper punctuation.
I don’t support it because I don’t believe in those sorts of things, and while a lot of things you said were true, I disagree primarily because I don’t believe one should rely on a substance of any sort, legal or illegal, to make them happy/feel better/feel good.

I believe one should be high off of life before high off of a substance.
