Question by Helper: How can I play StarCraft without the need to insert the CD?
I have StarCraft Original and Brood War. They both work fine, but I need to insert the CD into my computer to play. I play both and it’s getting annoying switching the CDs. I sometimes lose the CDs too. Some people told me some stuff, but I forgot. Something like “alcohol” or whatever it is.
What are the steps and programs needed for me to play StarCraft Original and Brood War without needing the CDs? Hopefully something fast and easy if possible. By the way, I have both CDs currently.

You can use softwares like virtual CD manager or virtual drive manager or alcohol.

Perform following steps:
Make image of each CD separately using any of above softwares like virtual CD. You can also use Nero to make it. Select option of save disc.

Then install alcohol or VCD manager or virtual drive manager.
Then during installation or afterwords through software select minimum 2 (1 for each CD) drive letters.
Then restart system.

You get new virtual CD drives.
Right click image and you get options like insert.
Or go to that software and add/open image. Give path where you stored images of Cds.

Than your starcraft will run from harddisc only. But computer will feel like it is running from actual Cds.
After this you do not need actual CDs.

Try it out. It is not difficult.
