Nope, you’ll only get prescribed with it if you’re in serious pain or suffering from bad nausea due to operations, strong medication etc. Unless you have a serious illness, and you’re in pain, you won’t usually be prescribed with it.

it is not unheard of at all to go down to the boardwalk along the beach and find individuals who sell medical cards.

however, if wish to do it “legally” it is also extremely easy. All you need to tell your doctor is that you have “chronic headaches” or “chronic insomnia” or “chronic anxiety” (chronic being the key word – meaning it is something that is long-lasting and recurrent or characterized by long suffering).

you don’t even have to go to a doctor.

Depending on your location, there are countless “green centers” and clinics set up to receive anyone in search for a medical marijuana card.

I do not know how it might interact with social security in California. I would call and ask a clinic (do not go to the same clinic though).
