I’m Trying to Be the “Rudy” of a New Generation…lol(football)?

Question by Mike Jones: I’m trying to be the “Rudy” of a new generation…lol(football)?
What’s the best way to get on a college football team from a two-year college?(My college doesn’t have a football team)

I’m going to college after a 2 year break from school. I plan on majoring in Journalism, but I have another goal set higher…I want to get back on the football field. You’re probably asking why i’m not on the field now… I’m a man that’s made some mistakes early in my life, most had to do with school. I believe I can do it. I’ve always been competitive, and good in sports if not great. I’m inspired because I thought back to my last year of high school. We would play football every other day in the gym. It wouldn’t have been significant if half of the people in my gym class weren’t starting on the football team. I used to DEMOLISH them in every sense of the word. When choosing teams, I was the first picked. I had my lil’ section of fans(mostly women) supporting me almost like a event. Right then, I felt the Lord was trying to show me something, but I didn’t care. Coaches would walk up to me and ask why didn’t I play any sports, I would say something silly and joke about it. I felt like I had a gift, but didn’t use it. These last two years have been a “rehabilitation” period for me. Me and my family have been struggling with stability(We’ve moved 11 times since I’ve been born). I’m the youngest in the family and was the first to graduate from high school with a lot of talent. They were depending on me to make something of myself. I’m young and I don’t feel like it’s too late. I feel like i’m few steps away from being where I want to be in life, but I want to take it a lil further just to help open doors for my family. I have a plan in mind(spent last two years planning my life), but I wanted to see who has a better one.

Thank you.
Let me give some more details on athletic ability. I was 5’11 in high school and could dunk the basketball, nickname was “Surge”. Played football in middle school and could’ve EASILY started if I had better transportation(missed too many practices). Went to Stephenson with the likes of Jermaine Cunningham, Marcus Ball, Reggie Ball and seen what they can do . Also went to school with Caleb King. BIG football fan, just now I want to play it. I’m not intimidated by anybody. Football is not as hard as you think and I KNOW I have the athletic ability to run with anybody if conditioned better. Miles better than Rudy. Im black lol. Key to football is confidence, patience and intellegence, I have all of that(may take a while to build up). Know about cover zones, man-coverage, zone blocking. Plus, it’s been done before. Anything is possible if you give 100 percent and I don’t know how to give less than that… May not be easy, but anything that doesn’t kill you…and it’s worth a try.
Thanks for the support co.614joe….boosted my confidence even more
I feel I could thrive in a couple of positions….Saftey, Corner, Wr, and if I get my weight up I would definatly play Running Back and I think I could make a name for myself on KR I have no problem taking angles and setting up blocks.

So you’ve played no organized football (sorry but football in the gym doesn’t count for anything). And you think you can walk on to a college team and do anything but embarrass yourself? Wake up! You do realize that ‘Rudy’ played on the shit team in practice for 2 years and then played in 2 actual game plays. That’s your goal?

So your going from like a community college to a Main college?
It depends on what college your trying to get into. But either way you’d pretty much have to get a hold of their athletic office or football coach and try out as a Walk On. Their aint much else you can do in that situation.

What position are you?

But hey i wish you luck! Sound like your really wanting to do this, so just set this as your goal and dont give up till you’ve reached it.
