Once all specialized assessment and treatment are completed in an inpatient setting (detox/rehab) or outpatient setting, patients may continue treatment with one or more aftercare programs. Organized in different formats, self-help groups may also be started during treatment. Malibu Horizon is the only non 12 Step, disease model, therapy based program in the world. There may be other non 12 step programs out there however; we are the only one who believes that addiction is a chronic medical condition.
