Should I Visit a Chiropractor? Please Read!!?

Question by Renee: should i visit a chiropractor? please read!!?
i am only 16. (turn 17 in november) i play 3 sports, and have a Very busy life.
i crack my neck/back all the time, and it is usually extremely loud.
at the beginning of the basketball season, a girl tried to get a ball, and jumped behind me, trying to get to it first. she didn’t try to but, came down on my back area.
ever since i have had to ice my lower back every time after i play.
(i can barely walk the next day if i don’t)
i have heard people say it is not safe to visit a chiropractor if you’re young. is this true?

i don’t know if it all makes sense…but i just need some ideas… thanks! :)

In my opinion?
I would never see a Chiropractor.
These Chiropractors always give their patients x-rays with these strange medical terms, such as “You have a slipped pinched vertebrae in your upper lumbar area”,and all kinds of other medical terms that make NO sense whatsoever. They do,and say those ‘medical terms’ to do nothing more than milk your pocket dry,and to keep you coming back for more “Adjustments”.
Those so-called “Adjustments” do no good, and likely cause more damage than good.And,again….milk you dry. Most times a persons insurance company will only pay so much, and for so long for these chiropractors.I think it’s because the insurance companies know their nothing but junk doctors.
This is only my opinion.I would never see,or waste my hard earned money seeing a chiropractor.I’d much rather suffer in misery than seeing one of these whack jobs.But,again….my opinion only.

I think you should see a “Real” M.D.
Take care, and I hope you start feeling better soon.

As the daughter of a DC, I can advise you to go to a reputable DC and get examined if you want. They help lots of people. The therapy is drugless and can help.
