What Can I Do to Not Feel Depressed During and Before My Period?

Question by Ronderu: What can I do to not feel depressed during and before my period?
I always feel so depressed before and during my period, to the point where I don’t want to wake up until its over. I have VERY painful cramps and I loose interest in everything. Help?

See a doctor about that. Your period shouldn’t be THAT miserable. Ask your gyn if there’s medicine or a type of birth control you could try that might make it a little easier.

Try taking a cod liver oil capsule daily, an organic desiccated liver supplement, and a kelp capsule. Cook your foods in coconut oil. These will help with the depression.

For the cramps, drink Red Raspberry Leaf tea (try buying it online at the Bulk Herb Store, or just buy a box of tea bags at the grocery store. The quality of tea bags just isn’t as good). Start drinking it a few days before you expect your period, and drink a pot of it every day. I use a coffee maker to brew mine.

If it gets really unbearable, Walgreens has a painkiller specifically labeled “Menstrual Relief” that I have found to be pretty effective.
