Will Running Help Me Get in Shape for Swimteam?

Question by I love One Direction: Will running help me get in shape for swimteam?
I started to run track and I was wondering since swim team is coming up this summer, will running help me in swimming? Opposed to if I wasn’t running. I was thinking it would help me and I wouldn’t get so out of breath. Its kinda late to join year round swimming, so are their any tips you could give me that would help me get ready for swim team? Thanks:)

Running helps swimming by loosening upper body tension caused by most swim strokes.

Swimming helps running by providing a venue for “active recovery”.

You sure you don’t want to throw a bit of cycling in there? ;-D

Yeah it will, it’ll help tone your muscles especially your leg muscles. But usually swimmers don’t like running… good for you then (:
