Bipolar Medication?

Question by Gemini: Bipolar medication? Okay say I know this person who i s taking Topamax for their Bipolar disorder. They seem to be doing better after a month and a half, but are getting more aggressive at times. they don’t have typical bipolar symptoms, manic/depressive episodes, more manic/normal/ manic/MANIC episodes. They don’t have insurance, are seeing a mental health professional, but not of much help with the medications. Does anyone out there know much about these meds, something that could be added to the Topamax for a better outcome maybe? Also this person is very bright student, to be a nurse practioner. Do I Have Some Type of “certain” Anxiety Disorder?

Question by buttafly: Do I have some type of “certain” anxiety disorder? Is this some type of disorder? I don’t know how to drive on the Interstate! I’m frightened out of my wits! Actually, I’m starting to have reoccuring dreams about me having brushes with death while driving on the Interstate. I can drive fine on the regular streets. What is really interesting is that my direction sense is HORRIBLE. And so, everytime I need to go somewhere new, my mom has to literally drive me there and show me. I don’t know my street signs, I don’t know the east, west, south, north parts of town. Something is wrong with me. Is this some type of disorder?? Read more... ...

Punishment…treatment Center, or JAIL?!?

Question by harmony: Punishment…treatment center, or JAIL?!? My friends brother was arrested 2 months ago on some serious charges…in New York State. He seems to think that he is going to get off with going to a treatment center and avoid anymore jail time. He is a sever alcoholic who has had 1 prior DWI. He was drunk and drove through a 35 mph zone and 92 mph, dodged police and pulled into a parking lot to “hide.” When he realized it was a dead end, he smashed into 5 cars including a police cruiser trying to leave. He resisted arrest, and tried fighting with police officers. He only has a public defender, not a great laywer. I seriously think he is going to prison for at LEAST 1 year. Here are his charges….
