Christmas tree ornaments are fun to make with polymer clay. They are easy and fun and let you do theme trees if you are so inclined. One year I did a pink and white Icicle Santa theme tree that got lots of oohhhs and aahhhs. Another fun project is making canes and covering objects with slices. A cousin in college asked me to cover a wine bottle with canes and he still has and treasures it 15 years later. You can cover the handles of screwdrivers and canape knives, pens and pencils, tins from breath mints, make a bathroom set ( soap dish, toothbrush holder etc.). Once you start, nothing that will fit in the oven will be safe from the clay slices.
