None of the ingredients should be necessary if you have a healthy diet.
Collagen doesn’t form as well if you don’t have a good supply of vitamin C. Of course amino acids are needed to manufacture the different types of collagen in the tissues.
Those would be the most useful for tendon health.
I’d stick to well sourced vitamin C, a good diet with a diverse source of protein so that you can manufacture the correct prostaglandins to control inflammation and try and train with minimal injury to the ligaments.

Non of the other ingredients are harmful although if you are on any kind of BP medication or have raised watch glucosamine.
This is Hydrophilic and attracts water so it can raise your blood pressure.

Edit:
Actually there were quite a lot of studies done + the Authors own research of this book, “The Arthritis Cure” By Dr. Jason Theodasakis.

The first edition doesn’t mention it the follow up does.

###Perhaps the sodium content associated with ONE form of glucosamamine MAY theoretically, cause a rise in blood pressure for “salt-sensitive” individuals,####
Yes I was aware of that. more than 1 I think you’ll find.
###but this has not been observed generally.###
Correct. But in something you can buy over the counter not prescribed it is best to be cautious rather than an individual with high blood pressure be affected negatively.
###The REAL problem with glucosamine is that it is ineffective.###
According to some studies. Not all of them.

Another supplement gaining popularity is glucosamine Hydrochloride which does not seem to have the same negative effects as it does not contain the sodium the other stuff does.

This is just another example of a troll trying to use every opportunity to discredit a highly skilled and educated professional such as myself.

In another question not long ago he talked about how useless Glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate was citing one of my answers as justification for doing so.

Ignore him. He knows almost nothing about conventional medicine and even less about Osteopathy. This is clear in the answer where he describes what he thinks we actually do.

Edit:
I think Mr Arrogant need to learn how to read.
I haven’t recommended or advised to use or not to use Glucosamine.
I just said it would do no harm but to be cautious if you have blood pressure issues.
###Glucosamine and/or Chondroitin has been conclusively shown to be no better than placebo.###
Erm no it hasn’t…..
You can find studies to show anything depending on how they are conducted.
Tobacco companies can quote studies which say tobacco is not harmful.
###It’s done. You can stick a fork in it. Time for Lighting to move on to another worthless fad treatment. Maybe next time he won’t be so easily bamboozled.###
The jury is still out on this one. However because the BMJ (a medical authority) says its been proven no more need to be said to this individual…..
Even though they have been wrong about so many things.

Smoking was good for you and used to be advertised in the AMA literature.

For decades butter was poison. Now its a fat which in mderation is good because it contains Omega 6.

MUFA’s were promoted as healthy eating.
Now they are thought to be worse for you than lard or dripping.

Mercury fillings were not harmful.
Need I go on……
This individual may trust researchers and the medical profession and everything they say.
His choice. I’m a little smarter than that.

Lightning writes:
“if you are on any kind of BP medication or have raised blood pressure watch glucosamine. This is Hydrophilic and attracts water so it can raise your blood pressure.”

This demonstrates again why UK-trained osteopaths should stick to giving rubdowns and back scratches in back alley “clinics”, and not pontificate on real scientific/medical matters of which they know nothing.

This supposed association between raised blood pressure an glucosamine circulates mainly in altmed sales literature. According to real authorities, “not a single credible study” associates glucosamine with raised blood pressure.

Perhaps the sodium content associated with ONE form of glucosamamine MAY theoretically, cause a rise in blood pressure for “salt-sensitive” individuals, but this has not been observed generally. The REAL problem with glucosamine is that it is ineffective.

“Ligament Restore” is just another trash irrational mixture sold to suckers.
Don’t take medical advice from ill-trained cranks.

ROFL! So now it turns out Lightning’s main source of misinformation is a discredited promotional book called “The Arthritis Cure”, whose author sells worthless products like glucosamine on his website http://drtheos.com/ .

Glucosamine and/or Chondroitin has been conclusively shown to be no better than placebo. It’s done. You can stick a fork in it. Time for Lighting to move on to another worthless fad treatment. Maybe next time he won’t be so easily bamboozled.
