...  the last 3 years (I have checked the symptoms in medical sites and they fit perfectly-unfortunately for me). And I am slowly losing motivation. I think it is getting harder for me to cope and all this numbness is honestly pathetic. I was wandering if I am just going through a -prolonged obviously- phase, a rough patch and not depression. Do you think it is likely to fade away in time, or should I seek medical help? If you support this last thing, do you think I should visit a psychologist or a psychiatrist ( I would like to avoid that, since I am 17.) Question by Tori Lounds: should i be admitted into a mental hospital? im 16 years old. two years ago i cut myself alot. my mom saw and sent me to a psycologist i stopped cutting because my mom checked me. i quit going to the doctor. lately ive be depressed (i have always felt this way, even when i was cutting) sometimes im fine, but most of the time im mad or sad sometimes over nothing, most of the time i just feel numb. i dont show m emotions, i like to keep them to myself. i havent be sleeping. i lay in bed all night, about every third night i pass out from being so exhasted, im always tired tho. also food kinda repulses me, i eat but i dont ever feel hungry. i dont know how to tell anyone about this. but its getting worst i think about what it would be like if i died. i know i need help but i dont know what to do.
