Question by Randy M: Is it normal for a house party to tell playing bands to help pay for alcohol? My band just lost a show that we were a little excited to play. We were the opening act, and because the guy throwing the party was trying shove a 5th band in he lowered our set list from 45 mins down to 15. From the beginning he was telling us that we were required to drop 10 dollars a piece to help pay for alcohol.
